The kitchen is the melting point of family life. From time immemorial it has been the place assigned to ancient rites such eating. Today, the kitchen is the heart of the home; a place where relationships between parents and children intertwine; where friends and neighbours are entertained; but also the place where news are watched and commented, and where people make important decisions about their lives. Tempers, moods and and relational dynamics make the kitchen a theater of life.
The Reality Show
Over five months, more than 100,000 visitors have paid more than 140,000 visits to two families in Italy and Finland through webcams that were installed in their kitchens, enabling the public to follow the daily habits, events and dramas of real people.
Electrolux would like to thank everyone who has taken some time to embark on this venture and share a couple of moments with our Kitchenstage protagonists. Meanwhile, the curtain has fallen for these two editions, but we might be back with more kitchen theatre at a later stage... so watch this place!
